Match-fixing bigger crime than murder: Dhoni recalls CSK suspension in documentary teaser

first_imgChennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni who had remained tight-lipped about the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise’s two-year suspension has emotionally recalled the tough days in a teaser of a soon-to-be-released documentary.Stressing that he thinks match-fixing is a bigger crime than murder, MS Dhoni pointed out that even he was accused of wrongdoing when CSK was suspended in 2015 over betting activities of their key officials.”The biggest crime that I can commit is not a murder. It’s actually match-fixing. The team was involved. I was accused too. It was a tough phase for all of us,” Dhoni tells in the teaser of Hotstar’s documentary.Dhoni added: “Fans felt the punishment was harsh. Coming back was an emotional moment. I have always said ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you strong’.”The teaser also features footages of fans’ reception to CSK’s return to the league and clips of Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja among others.Notably, the Chennai-based franchise played only one home match last season as the games were shifted out of South Indian city due to the volatile situation over the setting up for Cauvery Management Board.CSK marked their return to the league with their third IPL title.
